A common perception of an “Alchemist” is someone who creates gold or mixes together a ‘magical’ brew from ordinary herbs, which then has the power to change something beyond the boundaries of logic. I did grow up with a fascination for herbs to then become an herbalist to create many herbal formulations for animals and people. Yet, my identification with the personality type of an Alchemist comes closer to how Paulo Coelho describes one in his book of same title:” The Alchemist is a very wise man, a man who only ever speaks the truth. Despite his great wisdom and magical powers he doesn’t seek fame or fortune.
